Robert C. Scott's Obituary
Robert, a native of Cokeburg, PA, passed away on January 1, 2009 at the VA hospital in Livermore California. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Albert Scott and Flora Baughman; Brother Dusty Scott and Children Edward and Tina Scott and Stepson Curtis Horst. He is survived by his children, Robert Scott of Seneca, PA; Cheryl (Bennett) Wheaton of Meadville, PA. and Melody Bush of Meadville, PA; Step-children Thomas (Kimberly) Groshong of Frederick, OH, Diane Wardrobe and Cheryl Wakeham of Stockton. Robert is also survived by many loving Grand-Children, Great Grand-Children; special nephew, Michael Carroll and many other relatives. Robert was previously married to Jeannine Wilson and married to Jeannette Groshong for 25 years from 1967 until her passing in 1992. He was engaged to be married to his fiancee Mary Ann Horst of Lodi. Robert was extremely proud of his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS LSMR 190 which was sunk in Japan Harbor. During Robert’s service to his county he was awarded the Purple Heart twice. Robert also served in the Merchant Marines. Robert was a member of the Bay Area Painters and Tapers Association until his retirement. Robert enjoyed sports, fishing, camping, playing pinochle and poker and making people laugh. He was also a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. Please join the family for services honoring Robert’s life beginning with a Visitation form 5:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. 94544. A Funeral Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Friday, January 9 at 1:30 p.m. with burial to follow.
