Robert Motozaki's Obituary
Resident of Reno, Nevada (former resident of Fremont)July 10, 1929 – Nov. 15, 2014Robert was born in San Jose to Motonoshin and Sumiko Motozaki. During World War II the family was interned at Topaz Relocation Center (Utah). Bob graduated from Washington High School (Fremont) in 1947. He served in the Army during the Korean War at Fort Ord (Monterey) and Fort Irwin (Death Valley). In 1961 Bob married Nobuko. He ran Thornton Nursery in Fremont. In 1973 Bob sold the nursery and moved to Reno.Bob enjoyed bowling, watching sports, eating out, spending time with family and friends, gardening, and doing crosswords. He was elated when the Giants won the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.Survived by his wife Nobuko Motozaki, sister Eleanor (& Kay) Mayeda, sister Carol Alberigi (& Ray) McConnell, son Andy (& Eileen) Motozaki, and grandchildren Sarah and Anna Motozaki. Predeceased by his sister Joan Yamagata and son Cary Motozaki. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward (Mission Chapel), 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544, (510) 471-3363.
