Love you and miss you Uncle Bob. The memories are flowing so not sure what I can focus my thoughts on but some of what’s standing out is just how much laughter and joy we experienced when we could all gather together throughout the years.
As I’m reflecting back, I can envision Kris and me as kids in the back seat of the car, laughing uncontrollably as Uncle Bob stopped to ask for directions to “LOST Lake.” We had great camping adventures celebrating August birthdays with so much laughter & Joy.
So many many memories of exchanging stories.
One trip to visit, when I was in high school, Ronda and I visited Alcatraz Island and the Pier in San Fran during the day. I bought silly souvenirs. When we exchanged stories of our adventures later that evening in the Hoffer living room, I think back of how Bob was having fun hearing about our day and jokes w/ the souvenirs and there’s even a picture somewhere of him trying on my new funny hat I bought at the pier.
Such heartfelt moments that I now reflect on.
I am so thankful for all the moments shared from, trips traveling down to visit, Pam’s & Kris’s weddings and being invited to share in all the events. Also, Bob and Nella & family always showing up for all the important moments in our lives too, even in the midst of winter, 2 days after Christmas, in a forest in Oregon, to celebrate my own wedding. :-)
Always, ready to celebrate others.
For Bob’s 80th birthday, it was the most amazing day with all the families coming together to share stories and honoring him. It turned out to be minutes with some of our loved ones who we wouldn’t see again so I’m so so thankful we were able to gather that day and that they chose to celebrate in Oregon. Thank you Hoffer family.
Truly, the most impactful thing about my Uncle Bob, is not even so much the words exchanged, but how he made everyone feel around him; loved, important, & joyful.
We Love you forever Uncle Bob.
