Robert “Bob” Evitt Sr. November 6, 1931 – April 9, 2019 Resident of HaywardRobert M. Evitt Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley on Tuesday, April 9th, 2019. He was 87 years old.Originally from Clinton, Indiana, Bob was born to Winston and Martha Helen Evitt. He married Loretta Harris in 1951 and had three children before moving the family to California. He worked for Mack Truck in Hayward for 16 years and then as a Security Guard at Eden Medical Center, Kaiser Hospital and St. Rose Hospital before retiring in 1994.Bob is survived by Loretta, his loving wife of 67 years; their children Bob (Joan) Evitt and Debbie (Henry) Jiminez, his Grandchildren Brian (Rian) Evitt, Kristin Evitt, Yvette (Jeremy) Jiminez-Way, Niki (Cherish) Jiminez, and his Great Grandchildren, Faith Evitt, Kaitlyn Evitt, Emalie Evitt, Chase Jiminez, Mia Way and Kylie Way. He is preceded in death by his brothers Bill and Clifton Evitt and his beloved son Gary Evitt.He will be fondly remembered for the love he had for his family, Country Western music and old Western movies. He enjoyed meeting up with friends at his favorite restaurants, and was extremely proud to watch his son Bobby sing and play guitar with his band.A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 22nd, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in Hayward.
