Richard James Rivera's Obituary
Richard James Rivera, 46, of San Leandro, passed away peacefully on November 27th, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Richard was born October 11,1977 in Oakland, and raised in San Leandro, a city he loved and never left. Richard loved his family above all else and always went above and beyond to shower everyone with love. He worked as a fashion designer, creating works of art through clothing for his private label, RJ Rivera. He also worked for the Oakland Raiders as part of the Oakland Football Marketing team. He remained a steadfast fan of all his Oakland teams including the Raiders, Athletics, and Warriors. Richard loved all things Disney, especially Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and all the Disney villains. He had a vast collection of Disney Funko Pops and was very proud of his collection. Music also played an important role in Richard’s life, and he loved all genres depending on his mood. Richard was compassionate, sensitive, generous, and incredibly kind. He will be dearly missed and always
remembered. Richard is survived by his mother, Cindy Rojas, his grandma Ruth Rojas, his sister Rachel Tift-Rivera, his Aunt Debbie Lambert, and countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Rivera and his “Grampy Monie” (Ray Rojas). We request all of Richards’s loved ones to join us in celebrating his beautiful life at St. Philip Neri, 3100 Van Buren St. Alameda CA on Friday, December 22 at 11 AM. with a reception immediately following. A viewing and rosary will be held Thursday, December 21st from 5:00-7:00 at Chapel of the Chimes, Mission Chapel, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, Ca.
