Rena Mae Smith's Obituary
Rena M. Smith of Hayward, CA Passed away on November 5, 2011 while residing at Windsor Garden Care Center in Hayward. She was the daughter of the late Cesar and Mary Satagna, immigrants from the Piemonte region of northern Italy. She was born in Rockville, Colorado on March 8, 1922. Rena attended school in Colorado. During WWII she worked in a factory in the San Francisco Bay Area, supporting the war effort while her husband Warren was taking part in the invasion of Normandy. Rena was a partner in a successful hair salon in Hayward during the 1960’s. Rena will be remembered for her energetic and caring spirit, her wonderful cooking and baking-especially her famous pies. She found time to belong to a garden club and will be dearly missed by her friends and neighbors. Rena was predeceased by her loving husband, Warren Smith. Rena is Survived by sister Marie Starika; sons Daniel Smith and Gary Smith; grandchildren Danielle Smith, Mary Smith, Christopher Smith, Shannon (Smith) Sucato, Kathrina Smith, Colton Smith, Austin Smith and Taylor Smith; great-grandchildren Jessie Smith, Sophia Sucato, Stella Sucato and Khloe Smith. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will greatly miss her presence.
