Remedios Quiazon Braga's Obituary
Remedios Samia Quiazon Braga was born on March 25, 1934, the fourth child blessed to Alejandro and Agapita Quiazon, in San Vicente, Tarlac Tarlac, Philippines. A beautiful young woman who was chosen by her home and crowned “Her Highness 2nd Princess Remedios” at the San Vicente Fiesta.In June of 1952, she married Pablo Buban Braga. While he was stationed at Camp Olivas, Remedios, found a passion for dance and joined the Blue Ladies Social Club.Her passion found its replacement with each addition to her family; Marilyn, Myrna, Nelly, John, Jude and Jane. Her love for them exuded in to her everyday life, and those close to her affectionately called her ‘Aling Remy’ or ‘mommy’.She went through this life with a gentle smile, courage, outgoing nature, commitment to family, and strength in her faith. In 1985, she was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes & shortly after Thyroid Cancer, in 2008, survived a triple heart bypass surgery and in 2010, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Through all the pain and fear, she embraced her faith in God and her resilience held her smile to protect the family she created from doubt or worry.After five excrutiating weeks in the Critical Care Unit, her last battle was lost. On January 17, 2017, in the late hours of the night, while surrounded by all of her children, mommy, was called to her heavenly home.Remedios is survived by her six children, 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; each inspired by her fight against time and illness until the end. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she will live on in the hearts of her loving family forever.
