Rebecca (Becky) Silva-Parks July 12, 1953 – October 20, 2015 Resident of Union City (Decoto)Beloved Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Tia, Godmother, Cousin, Comadre & Friend Becky Silva-Parks, 62 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. She was born on July 12, 1953. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Silva Sr. & Isabel Hernandez Silva and her brother Richard Silva. She is survived by family members: Husband, Wayne Parks; Daughter: Leticia E. Silva; Brother: Manuel H. Silva and wife Rocio Cortes; Becky’s five pride and joy grandchildren: Selena Ortega, Diego Rivera, Rebecca-Rose Lerma, Julissa Lerma and Ezekiel Gudino; her nieces and nephews: Monica Silva-Nubla and husband Rod Nubla; Manuel Silva and wife Alexis Harrington; Richard Silva, Natalia Silva, Frida Silva; and numerous loving extended family members.Becky was a graduate from James Logan High School, Class of 1971! She went on and completed her Master’s Degree at Cal-State Hayward. She was a well accomplished community member who always delivered the true meaning of giving back to the community which included but not limited to:–Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center – Opening up the first satellite Clinic in Hayward. –Hayward Unified School District – D.A.R.E. Program –New Haven Unified School District – Pioneered the James Logan High School Health Center; the “Kids First” Extended Day Care Program; Children Family and the Community Services – State Head Start Program –CAPE – Executive Director of State Head Start Program based in Livermore –Board of Directors Member for Centro de Servicios of Union City; and many more successful endeavors.Becky loved to travel and enjoyed fine dining. She loved spending weekends at Half Moon Bay with Wayne! She loved attending her grandchildren softball / baseball games. Becky was an avid “Giants” fan. She loved to entertain. She loved music and loved to dance. Her favorite was Tejano Music: “Little Joe”! Becky was a, in her words: a “sharp” dresser and at the same time loved her sweat suits! She loved her camping trips to Bass Lake with her family! Becky was not only a strong mentor for those students in the community but also instilled the importance of education in her daughter, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Becky, your smile, laughter, fun loving personality was contagious and will always live in our hearts!
