Raquel Almeida Medina, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at 10:51am in Hayward, CA and was surrounded by her family and close friends.Raquel is survived by her husband Romeo Medina, whom she married in Agana, Guam on March 25th, 1975; her 3 children, Richard Almeida Medina (spouse Michelle Forni Medina), Rachel Medina Powell (spouse Nathan Powell) and Roxanne Almeida Medina (fiance Juanito Del Rosario); and her 5 grandchildren, Isaiah Medina Powell, Kitana Medina Powell, Carmelo Medina Vasquez, Marcelo Forni Medina and Zoie Medina with one more grandson on the way.Raquel was born in Manila, Philippines on March 15, 1954 to Carmelito Corcuera Almeida and Corazon Tuazon Casas. She has a total of 3 bothers and 4 sisters.Among many things, Raquel was a faithful wife, as well as a devoted, dedicated, loving and supportive mother, daughter, grandma “mama”, Tita, Ate and sister in Christ to many. Raquel and Romy also helped support and raise siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends, among a few. Their generosity is immeasurable.Raquel will be dearly missed, never forgotten and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Love, Light and Peace to our sister Raquel…Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2nd from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chapel of the Chimes in the Mission Chapel.Final viewing will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 9:00am with a service led by Reverend David at 10:00am. Our mother will be laid to rest at 11:30am. Our family would request you to wear white clothing.Reception will immediately follow at Ristorante di Palermo, 22532 Foothill Blvd. Hayward, CA 94541. As Raquel would say, please bring “good vibes”!
