Obituary – Ram KrishnaOM NAMAH SHIVARam Krishna was born on June 28, 1944, in Lautoka, Fiji. His parents were Chandar and Muniamma Naidu. Ram moved to Nadi, Fiji, to continue his studies before moving to Suva, Fiji, where he began his career as a bookkeeper. On August 25, 1972, Ram got married to Aruna Devi Krishna. Together they started a family and raised three sons – Roneal Ram, Robin Ram, and Neal Ram. They had a large home built for the family in Namadi Heights in Suva, Fiji. The family enjoyed their stay there. During most of his career in Fiji, Ram served as a senior accountant at Northern Hotels, and later the Fiji Sun newspaper company. In 1988 Ram’s career took him and his family to Auckland, New Zealand, where they lived for 6-years. There, Ram worked as an accountant for the Sing Tao newspaper group. In 1993, Ram and his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, in the United States.Ram enjoyed soccer, and made sure that his boys played the sport too. His idea of a relaxing time was enjoying beer, great food, and Bollywood movies. He loved playing cards, carrom board game, and listening to both Bollywood music as well as to western classical music. He valued secular education and completed studies in accounting at the University of Auckland. Ram always emphasized to his boys the importance and value of secular education.Ram struggled with Parkinson’s Disease for many years and passed away peacefully at his home during the early hours of Sunday, January 14, 2018. Ram is survived by his wife, Aruna Krishna; his sons, Roneal Ram, Robin Ram, and Neal Ram; and his grandchildren, Ariya Ram, and Nishan Ram. The family is grateful to close friends and families who over the years have expressed much love, affection, and support for Ram and his wife. We take this opportunity to also express our deep gratitude and love for Ram’s wife, Aruna Krishna, who stayed very close by his side and lovingly and selflessly served him during his health struggles.We trust that Ram has moved on to a better future now, and pray to God to bless him and to lovingly carry him forward.
