HONESTO R TRIA's Obituary
Honesto Radores Tria of Fremont, California died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at the age of 88. He is survived by Rosie, his wife of 58 years; his children Roselli, Hazel, and Florian; his sons-in-law Craig Smith and Joe Broadhead; his grandchildren Jacob Smith, Kevin Smith, and Jordan Broadhead; and his sisters Adelaida Angeles and Soledad Gella.Honesto was born on June 24, 1928 in Sagnay, Camarines Sur, Philippines, the fifth among the eight children of Soledad Radores and Francisco Tria. Honesto married Rosie Falcon in 1958 and over the next four years, welcomed three daughters into their home in Manila. He settled in San Francisco in 1972 and his family followed in 1978.Honesto attended Far Eastern University in Manila where he obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. Shortly after graduation, he joined Manila Electric Company (Meralco) where he held a number of positions up to Assistant to the President. In California, he worked for Pacific Gas & Electric from where he retired in 1990. After retiring, he placed all his energy into his work with Save A Tahanan, Inc, a non-profit charitable organization he co-founded in 1986 with Rosie and six other Filipino-American couples in San Francisco.He traveled extensively throughout his life, both for work and for pleasure. His love of photography documented much of these travels. He kept himself busy with construction projects. He was an electrician from back in his student days and later learned carpentry. He loved his do-it-yourself projects.Honesto gave generously to those who asked for help. Aside from financial help, he connected people to jobs and to business opportunities. His last supervisor at Meralco liked working with him because he never said “it can’t be done”. The success of Save A Tahanan, Inc. was helped greatly by his passion and his outlook
