I had to go deep in the archive to find some pictures of this magnificent woman. Perla, let me call her "Ima," and even though she wasn't really my grandmother, I looked up to her as my own. She was always so kind to me, but never afraid to speak up. Her soft nature, kind heart, and spunky personality is forever engrained in my heart. I remember one time she taught me to cook adobo. I still have her hand written recipe and I still make it for my kids. It's hard to even imagine visiting Bernie & Debbie's home, and not seeing Ima. She will be missed greatly. I can only imagine the loss that your entire family is feeling right now. I hope and pray that you can all find some peace during this difficult time.
