Pong Yu San's Obituary
Pong Yu San died from cardiovascular complications in San Jose, CA on September 24th, 2020.
In 1944, he was born in China to an affluent family along with one brother and four sisters. Due to ostracism from Communist China, his father moved the family to Vietnam in 1949. He met and married his wife Cindy Vong San in 1963.
He emigrated from Vietnam along with his wife, three daughters, and three sons in 1979 for a better life in the United States. He and his wife started a successful business, The San Pong Trading Company, in 1986 which he managed until his retirement in 2016. He was a jovial, gregarious, and generous man who lived a happy and prosperous life. He will be remembered as someone who helped family, friends, and strangers alike. In his lifetime he donated to many charities to help the less fortunate.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, three daughters, three sons, four granddaughters, and eight grandsons.
