Phillip James Morrissey 1927-2022
Phillip J. Morrissey was born in 1927, Sacramento CA. He was fourth generation to a CA ranching family from Orland. He was related, on his mother’s side, to William B. Ide.
He graduated from UC Berkeley, 1950, Engineering. He began his career in engineering and production management in San Jose, CA. He then moved to Peoria ILL, with International Paper Company, where he was Manager of Manufacturing Services. He retired after 29 years, in 1989.
Phil and his wife, Eleanor, moved to San Luis Obispo after he retired and built a home in San Luis Country Club Estates, where he lived until 2021.
A Mason since 1952, he chose to move to Acacia Creek, Union City, CA, in 2021. He died in May, a month before his 95th birthday.
Phillip is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Morrissey. He is survived by his son Mark Morrissey and Leona Grimes, FL, and daughter Margaret Morrissey, CA.
