Philip Jay Balauro's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Jay Balauro aka PJ and Phil. On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Philip Jay Balauro silently slipped away from his earthly bonds and quietly entered into eternal rest at age 54 in his hometown of Union City. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Philip was born to Restie and Juanita Balauro on May 30, 1966 in San Francisco, California. He lived his entire life in the Bay Area. He attended the University of California, Berkeley and pursued a degree in Sociology. Philip was known for being caring, funny, thoughtful and hardworking. He enjoyed creating things and taking on new projects at home. Philip worked as an IT professional for Kaiser Permanente and Trintech over the past twenty years. Prior to that he worked as a mechanic and co-owned and operated an automotive repair business. Philip was someone you could always count on when you needed help. Whenever anyone had a problem he was there to fix it. He frequently went above and beyond for others, always caring for those around him. Philip had a passion for photography, scuba diving, traveling and playing pool. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends, especially all his nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed sharing a good meal with those he loved. Philip was preceded in death by his father, Restie, and his mother, Juanita. He is survived by his sisters, Raquel Balauro, Brigitte Balauro-Ciccolo, Lauren Balauro, and many nieces and nephews. Due to the COVID-19 guidelines the vigil and services will be private.
