PEREGRINO "PERRY" BACLIG's Obituary
Peregrino Guerrero Baclig May 28, 1921- June 24, 2014On a hot summer day on May 28, 1921 in Lapog, (San Juan) Ilocos Sur, Philippines, Justo and Maria Baclig welcomed their first born son Pergrino Guerrero Baclig (aka Perry). The family grew with the births of Felicisima, Dolores, Petronilo (deceased) and Carmen. They lived in Salomague, Cabugao, Ilocus Sur. 1943 – He married the love of his life the late Adelaida Rosal Baclig and 5 children (Edna, Rex, Leo, Zaida & Alyson) 1950 – He graduated from National University & Philippines Nautical School in Manila. 1948 – 1977 – He was a Deck Officer for various Marine vessels & Owner of Starlite Lumber Industries (lumber business) 1970’s – Eldest daughter Edna petitioned her parents and siblings. However, Perry was very resistant due his success in the Philippines. 1977 – He finally decided to migrate to the United States and started his new life in the Bay Area 1977-1999 – He worked at a Nursery, GenRad and Token. 1983 – At the age of 62 he graduated with his Associates Degree (Tools & Die) at Chabot College, Hayward 1995 – He celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with Adelaida at the Newark Hilton 1999 – He took his 1st trip back home to the Philippines since he migrated to the US 2000 – He become a widower upon the loss of his beloved Adelaida. During his leisure time he enjoyed playing the piano, reading, watching sports and attending the numerous family functions and events. He was also an active member in various organizations, Salomaguenian’s, USA, Cabugao Association of Northern California, Legion of Mary, Fremont Santo Prayer Group & Union City Moreno Valley Santo Nino Group. Into his golden years he still remained diligent in managing his finances, taking daily walks, and spending time with his family and religious groups. He leaves behind his 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Although his passing was unexpected, he would want you all to celebrate his life and not mourn his passing and know he is with his sweet Adelaida at the right hand of God.
