Percival Panaligan Hernal's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Percival "Ival" P. Hernal, who joined his Creator on October 30, 2024, at the age of 65. Throughout his time on earth, Ival touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, kindness, and enduring, fun-loving spirit.
Ival is survived by his beloved wife, Marbie, who stood by his side through every challenge; his cherished children, Richard and Rachel, who will carry on his legacy with pride and love. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Carleen, Gary, and Gina, and his dear mother, Daisy. Ival’s connection to family was strong and unwavering, he was a rock to those who depended on him. He will be forever remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
A proud member of Alpha Phi Omega Philippines Inc. (APO), Delta Chapter, Ival embraced his role within APO, always exemplifying the values of camaraderie, service, and leadership. Known for his generosity, he delighted in finding ways to bring joy to others.
Ival went above and beyond to bring smiles to everyone’s faces. He would surprise family members with items he found bargain shopping, ensuring they enjoyed the same pleasures he did. He had an innate gift for handiwork, often called upon by his extended family to lend a hand with repairs and projects in their homes. He dedicated his life to making sure his loved ones were always taken care of.
No matter the hardships he faced, including numerous illnesses, Ival’s resilience and positive attitude remained unshaken. He would often tell his mother that when God spread illnesses throughout the world, he had the biggest basket to catch most of them. He endured pain caused by multiple medical conditions, but he never let it control his life or change his demeanor. His enduring spirit and humor shone through even in the face of illness. His positivity and love for life remained steadfast to the end. There are no words that could ever describe the beauty Ival added to everyone’s lives and the pain of this tremendous loss.
Ival’s immediate family will gather to celebrate his life and honor his memory in a private memorial ceremony.
