Pedro(Peter) A. Martinez's Obituary
Pedro (Peter) A. Martinez passed away on Friday, November 9, 2001 at approximately 7:07a.m. while playing racquetball. He was 49 years of age and had lived in Union City, CA for the past 25 years. Peter was one of 14 children born to Paul and Sadie Martinez (both deceased) on May 22, 1952, in the city of Hayward. His parents taught him the value of hard work. He was a paperboy for The Daily Review for 10 years; was a valued employee of the Xerox Corporation for 22 years while serving successfully in various capacities; and, for the past 2 years, was a dedicated employee of the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Company. He graduated from Sunset High School (Hayward) in 1970; received his AA degree in business from Chabot Community College in 1973; and earned his Real Estate License in 1998. He loved sports and was an especially dedicated and loyal fan of the Raiders football and racquetball. Also, he was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed taking traveling vacations with his family. Peter is survived by 4 brothers, 8 sisters, 41 nephews and nieces, 39 grand nephews and grand nieces, a great-grand nephew, and a great-grand niece. Public viewing will be at the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hayward on Wednesday, November 14, 2001, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with and evening service immediately following; the Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 15, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. “Service of Marked Distinction”
