PEDRO MEJIA's Obituary
Pedro “Pete” Pascual Mejia, 69, of Union City, passed away after his battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 15 , 2014.He was born to the late Mauro and Librada Mejia, April 27, 1945 in Ugong, Pasig, Philippines. Pete graduated from Rizal High School in 1961 and received a BS in Business from Far East University of the Philippines. He married Lourdes Mejia in 1969, and they lived together in the Philippines, before immigrating to California in 1971.Pete was a Real Estate broker until he retired in 2005. He was very passionate about helping people obtain the American Dream of owning a home. Pete started his own Real Estate business in 1978 and established his office in Union City. He is well known in the community and industry. Pete was a very kind, generous, caring man that everyone loved.Pete was an active member of many Parishes including St. Anne’s and St. James Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Bay Area Golf Organization (BAGO).Pete loved sports especially golf and baseball. His favorite teams were the San Francisco Giants and Forty Niners. He was active in playing golf and softball.Pete is survived by his devoted wife, Lourdes Mejia, of Union City, and his three children, Eldest son Ray, his wife Sandra and their five children – Alysha, Alex, Alaina, AJ, Alekai; his middle son Mike, his wife Cindy and their two daughters, Jenna, and Mickey, and youngest daughter , Theresa , Dar Sefidi and their three children Naliyah, Kimiyah, and Zakariah. His only brother , Cip, his wife Violy of the Philippines.Family has requested no flower donations.A vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, at St. Anne’s in Union City. Mass and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, at St. Anne’s then Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
