PAULINE MAY LAAKSO's Obituary
Our loving mother was finally reunited with our dear father and the husband she has been missing since his passing nearly 4 years ago. Pauline May Caton was born on August 11th, 1930 and passed from this life into the next on August 20th, 2016. Her 3 daughters were privileged and honored to be holding her as she took her final breath and peacefully slipped away. Pauline married Calvin Laakso when she was only 17 years old and they were married nearly 65 years, living in the Bay Area and finally settling in Modesto. He was the love of her life and she has been longing to see him again ever since his death. They had 3 daughters – Colleen, Charlene (Edgar), and Catie (Lance). Pauline’s greatest joy was being with her family, and she will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren – Megan (Blake), Trevor (Kim), Becky, Trey (Rachel), and Emma (Chris) – and her 4 great grandchildren, Jace, Sam, Rylie and Sienna. Pauline spent most of her life taking care of others. She will be remembered for her sacrifice, generous nature, and sweet spirit. Everyone loved our mom! When mom finally needed someone to take care of her, the nurses and staff at Evergreen Nursing Home loved her and treated her as one of their own family. We cannot express enough thanks for their care and concern. There will be a small, private graveside service for the family at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, where she will be laid to rest next to our dad. We appreciate the cards and prayers of those who have known our mother and hope you will continue those prayers as we deal with our loss. The world is a little emptier without this incredible woman.
