Paul L. Black's Obituary
Paul Leslie Black, 79, of Roseville CA, sadly left us on December 19, 2023 following his valiant 4 year battle with cancer. He was an honored Vietnam veteran and served as a sergeant in the 4th infantry division, 34th armor and was awarded a Purple Heart and an army commendation medal.
Born in Gideon, MO, he was the son of the late William and Clarice Black. He was survived by his wife Josephine, his daughters Lillie and Paula, his 3 grandchildren Sarah, Noah and Abigail, and his sister Barbara. He was a strong willed man with quick wit, who charmed people with his sense of humor and generosity. He took pride in installing wall to wall carpet. In his spare time, he loved fishing in the Tracy Delta, and playing the drums in a county band with his brother. If he wasn’t at a casino playing 3 card poker or pulling slots, he was smiling ear to ear by spending time with his 2 young grandchildren. He wasn’t the best driver in the world, but when he rode on his scooter, he loved to do mach 10 on that thing! We will always remember having breakfast with him at his favorite restaurants and joking with his favorite waitresses.
His family would like to thank all the caregivers for caring for him in his final weeks and extends their deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to them.
May he rest in peace and finally be reunited with his mom and dad, brother James, sister Patricia, and his favorite dogs Tom Tom and Nick Nick.
