Orlando N. Catipon's Obituary
Orlando Nunez Catipon also known as Dandy & Orly to friends and family was born in Gapan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on December 27, 1937. He was the 8th of 12 children and the youngest son born to Maria and Gabriel Catipon. He graduated Nueva Ecija South High School and Mapua Institute of Technology of Mechanical Engineering.Before moving to America he worked for the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company. Then came to America in 1974 along with his siblings with the help of his US Navy brother, Ruben Catipon.Orlando married Elizabeth Catipon on August 19, 1988 in Baccor Cavite City, Philippines and was blessed with two beautiful kids, Avner and Janessa. He was deeply devoted in taking care of his kids and valued his family the most. He was employed in Hayward Area Recreational District where he served dutifully for twenty-five years before retiring in 2014. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and his sisters Norma, Belen, and Remy.He lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures and will always be remembered for his kindness and friendliness. He will be truly missed by family, friends, and all who’ve known him.
