I met Noel once when when I was first interviewing for a job with the City of San Jose. He had a gift for reading people's souls. He told me I wouldn't be happy being in such a routine job in a lab. He said I'd be much happier working somewhere where I could use my gift for connecting with people. He was right. I never met Noel again, nor worked with him. But more than 10 years later, I remembered his words. I am now grateful to be a Jesuit Novice being formed to serve God's people. In the hour or so I got to know Noel, he helped point me to my vocation. May his soul be united with the love of our heavenly Father.
