Celebrating the life of Nicolas Cruz WijangcoNicolas was born on September 14, 1947 in Pampanga, Philippines. His parents were Mariano Pamintuan Wijangco and Leonila DelaCruz Wijangco. He attended Lorraine Technical School specializing in TV and Radio Electronics. He began his career at Clark Air Force Base doing Engineering and Maintenance, Base Motor Pool and then was selected to be the official driver for the 13th Air Force 3-Star General commanding the US Air Force Base. During his service, he was sent to Washington DC to receive special training in defensive driving, weapons handling and protection training. While living in Dau, Pampanga, he was also the town “Chairman” helping the community from town clean up, events and resolving community issues. He was also able to open an elementary school with a new building in town with sponsorship from the US Air Force.Nicolas was married to Elizabeth (Jose) Wijangco on February 11, 1967. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and apu (grandfather). He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth, and their children, Marilou and son-in-law Caesar, Mel and daughter-in-law Ireen, Marivic and son-in-law Alvin, and Marivel. He has 8 grandchildren, Lizelle, Robin, Jessica, Daniel, Makena, Isabella, Marvin and Melvin Jr. He was the 7th of 9 children. He was a brother to Loretta, Lilia, Lucila, Jesusa, Vic, Manuel, Teresita and preceded in death by his sister Efrecita.Some important events in his life include moving his family for a better life in the United States on March 1986. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, Texas Hold ‘em poker, Pusoy (13 card poker), Bingo and going to casinos. In 2004 he won a $25,000 jackpot at Cache Creek casino. He was so happy that he bought a brand new Honda CRV with his winnings. He loves picking up his grand children at school with his new car before going to work.He will be greatly missed by all.
