Narendra Bisundayal's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce that Narendra Bisundayal, 84, known more commonly as “Narend” or “Ned,” passed away peacefully on November 7, 2020, at his home in San Jose, California.
Narend is survived by his wife, Daya Dayal; daughters Evelyn Puchta, Eileen Singh, and Jacqueline Riojas; sons-in-law Joe Puchta, Leonard Singh, and Juan Riojas; and grandchildren Shavana Puchta, Cameron Puchta, Samantha Singh, and Emiliano Riojas.
Born on December 27, 1935, in Nausori, Fiji, to Bisun Dayal and Raj Pati, Narend was the fifth of nine children. His father, Bisun, worked for Burns Philip Company in Suva, Fiji, and his mother, Raj, was a devoted and diligent housewife.
Narend enjoyed working with numbers and had a successful position at FNPF in Suva, which he left in 1976 in order to emigrate to the United States to provide a better education for his three daughters. Still an ocean-lover, Narend lived in Half Moon Bay for a time upon moving to California before eventually relocating to San Jose. Though he moved inland, fresh coconut water remained his favorite drink.
Professionally, Narend worked in accounting until he was able to retire, and his free time was occupied with various enterprises.
Narend's memory as a father, grandfather, husband, uncle, and friend lives on in his family.
