Nancy Jane Gabel's Obituary
Nancy Jane Gabel of Newark, California, passed away suddenly and peacefully on January 25, 2017 at the age of 77, surrounded by her family and loved ones.Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5-9 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA. Service and Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 10 am.Nancy was married to James E. Gabel, her devoted husband of 57 years. Together they traveled the world as a military family in the US Air Force for 20 years. She had three daughters, Dorene Jane Gabel, Susan (Dean) Crawford and Donna (Chuck) Kaletta. Nancy had 5 beautiful grandchildren, Kymberly (Stuart) Pusich, Stacy (Steve) Traversari, Krystal Mills, Tyler Crawford and Nicholas Kaletta that she loved so very much. She was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Colby, Dylan and Ethan Traversari and Noah and Shaya-Rae Pusich.Anyone who knew Nancy knows that her family was her life. She devoted so much love, time and caring to every one of them. She was present at all school functions, football games, soccer games, baseball games, softball games, basketball games, birthdays and graduations. If you needed anything, she was there.Nancy loved to decorate for the holidays, especially Christmas and hosted numerous events at her home. She made everyone feel welcome and part of her family.She was a very active member of the Red Hat Society, the Newark Senior Center and Mercy Brown Bag Program. Nancy spent much time traveling and cruising with her husband Jim and attending social functions.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Mercy Brown Bag Program, 3431 Foothill Blvd, Oakland, CA 94601.The family of Nancy Jane Gabel wishes to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers, love and support during this very difficult time.
