NANCY EDNA CABRAL's Obituary
Nancy Edna Cabral, 77 years of age, of Manteca, CA, died June 10, 2014 in Manteca, CA at her residence surrounded by her family from complications related to cancer.Nancy was born on April 25, 1937 in San Leandro, CA. She was born to the late Laverna and Edna Dillon and was raised with siblings in Oakland, CA. Nancy married the boy next door, Eugene Ulysses Cabral Jr. on June 6, 1964. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.Nancy attended grammar, middle and high school in Oakland, CA where she eventually graduated from Fremont High School in 1955. After high school, Nancy went on to work for the Prudential Insurance Company. Shortly after leaving the Prudential Insurance Company, she began working as a Yard Duty at Glassbrook Elementary School in Hayward, CA in 1974. Nancy loved her job and eventually became a Resource Center Aide where she passionately worked with kindergarten students alongside her assigned teacher and friend, Mrs. Joan Foget. Nancy eventually retired from Glassbrook School in 1999. Nancy loved her job and working with children.Nancy was a longtime resident of Oakland and Hayward, Ca. She moved to Manteca, CA seven years ago where she resided with her husband until her death. She enjoyed painting, attending church, and investing loads of time in her family and loved ones. Nancy was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hayward, CA and recently attended Cornerstone Community Church in Manteca, CA.Nancy was an extremely social person, who loved people and babies. Nancy was known as a generous person with both her time and limited money. Nancy was also an aficionado of chocolate. It was well known that she loved Hershey’s and See’s candy and even suggested that she wanted Hershey’s Bars at her funeral. Nancy also was known as “Jell-O Mama”. She could create just about any delectable Jell-O concoction from Jell-O and was expected to bring a Jell-O salad to the family functions.Nancy is survived by her husband Eugene Ulysses Cabral Jr., Manteca, Ca. Her daughter and son- in-law Pamela and Scott Vaughn of Tracy, Ca. Her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kelly Cabral of Tracy, Ca. Her grandchildren Katie and Kolleen Vaughn and Nathan and Emily Cabral. Her brother Jim Dillon and his wife Patti of Oakdale, Ca and Sister-in-Law Marge Dillon of Fremont, CA. As well as many sister and brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Greta Mateo, Robert Dillon, Mary Hill, and John Dillon.Nancy will be laid to rest at The Chapel of The Chimes Cemetery in Hayward, CA. A memorial is planned for Nancy on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 AM at Cornerstone Christian Community Church located at 17900 Comconex Road, Manteca, CA 95336. Pastor Scott Hoag will be officiating. All family and friends are welcomed to attend.
