Monte David Moore's Obituary
Monte David Moore passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 in a Missoula hospital due to heart failure. He was born in North Hollywood, Ca. on December 28, 1932 to Monte D. and Margaret Scharrold Moore. Monte was raised and educated in the Bay Area and graduated from San Leandro High School. He served his country in the United Sates Navy and had a 35 year career with Caterpillar Equipment, retiring from a management position.He then worked for George McGill's Body Shop and Shamrock Ford. Monte married Nancy Joan Parker in 1956.They enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and travel. They raised their daughter, Catherine Moore, in San Leandro until Nancy's death in 1986. He then married Merlena K. McGill and lived in San Lorenzo. They moved to Butte, Montana in 2006, spending winters in Ca. Monte and Merlena loved their pets and were very involved with the Husky Rescue in Butte, Mt. They enjoyed RVing and riding his Harley. Monte is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Margaret and his first wife Nancy. Survivors include his wife, Merlena Moore, daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and John Simonetti and grandchildren Chiara and Giancarlo Simonetti, Merlena's daughter, SaDonna Schneider and grandson Nicholas Schneider, Merlena's son, Floyd A. Birdsell and grandson Kade A. Birdsell, and a brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Judy Moore. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 13 at 1:30 at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward California. Memorials in memory of Monte may be made to Pintler Pets P.O Box 1204 Anaconda, MT, 59711 or Eden Hospital's 'No One Dies Alone' program. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
