Monica Lynn Monticalvo's Obituary
Monica Lynn Belman Monticalvo, born August 18, 1955, grew up in San Leandro, CA. Monica thrived as a loving and colorful mother, aunt, and wife. Her memory is both celebrated and missed by her sons David and John Monticalvo-Shrable, nieces, nephews, and dogs Toby, Khloe, Jake, and granddog Graham. She is reunited with the love of her life, her husband Dave, siblings Felicita, Sylvia, Phil, and Edward, and her parents Angie and Jesse Belman.
Monica’s family was the most important thing in her life, and she was delighted to have spent the last five years near them back home in the Bay Area after having spent many years away in Florida. She was such a fun-loving presence and never hesitated in making sure everyone felt celebrated and accepted. Monica was incredibly crafty and able to fix almost anything, all while devoting herself to her plants, makeup, and fierce boots.
Her warm, loving nature, feisty and fun sense of humor, and beautiful, committed, and loyal soul will never be forgotten. They will remain with all of us who were lucky enough to have been near her.
You’re invited to a party to celebrate her life at the Chapel of the Chimes Hayward (32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA) on Friday, December 27, at 12:30. Please wear bright colors and be prepared to write down any special memories you have of her. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Monica’s memory by giving any type of plant, or by making a donation to Unity Church of San Francisco, https://unitysf.com/donation/
