Molly R. Hersh's Obituary
November 17, 1926 - November 3, 2021
Molly had an amazing life. She was a strong, independent woman, who was ahead of her time.
Molly Rose Hersh (Polen) was born in Los Angeles, California to Marvin Polensky (later changed to Polen) and Mattie Barris Polen on November 17, 1926. She passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family after a long beautiful life. Molly was known affectionately to family and friends as “GG” short for Gorgeous Grandma, Grandma Molly, Molka, and Moll. She is survived by her son Michael, and daughter in law Norma Hersh. Grandchildren; Stephanie Moreno (Hersh), Brenna Camargo and Marcus Hersh. Great-Grandchildren Desiree Mendoza, Mateo Moreno, Lydia Scherz and Great Great Grandchildren Alena and Alessia Perez.
In her early years she worked at Paramount Studios in Hollywood California for Cecil B. DeMille. She worked alongside the likes of Bob Hope, Fred and Al Cavens, and Eric Alden to name a few. She also took up fencing lessons and was quite the fencer.
Molly was a successful realtor who loved her job, and it showed because her clients became like family. Appreciating her honesty and loyalty, they stayed with her for years. She helped many get into their first homes, then their second homes, and so on. She was fiercely loyal, and it was earned and returned.
Molly was a world traveler, making friends wherever she went. She loved spending early October in Maui each year, and took many cruises around the world with her good friend Nat Stone. She loved to stay active. She always enjoyed going out to dinner with her family, and even went out to see the new James Bond movie just a few weeks ago.
She never forgot a birthday, an anniversary, or an occasion to send a card.
She was the Matriarch of a large extended family, making sure everyone was taken care of and well loved, and she will be missed dearly.
