Mohini Advani's Obituary
Mohini Advani was a caring, loving, devoted and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On Friday June 21, 2024, she left the world surrounded by her immediate family members and friends at the age of 84 after she had been ill for approximately 18 months.
She was born on October 10, 1939 in Larkana in undivided India (which is now Pakistan) to Ruchi and Nandiram Shahani. She had five sisters and three brothers. She was married to Late Mr. Gopi Chand Advani. She is survived by her children Rattan, Sapna, Mukesh and Sindhu and their spouses, Sonia, Raj, Sonal, and Naresh repectively, and grandchildren Vineet, Dheeraj, Vrinda, Sagar, Roshni, Grace, Sai and Sanvi and her two great grandchildren Natali and Nyra.
After her family moved to India after partition of India into two countries, India and Pakistan, she mostly lived in Delhi, India before she emigrated to the United States in 1983 where she lived in California, including the cities of Fremont, San Francisco, Alameda, and San Ramon.
She got married in her teenage years and decided to devote her life to loving, nurturing and supporting her husband and children and grandchildren. She was a source of strength to her family during difficult times. Until the very end, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was also very religious and particularly enjoyed listening to devotional songs including bhajans and Gurbani and reading from Sri Guru Granth Sahib. She also enjoyed listening to classical Hindi music.
A memorial service is scheduled for June 27, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Reflection Chapel, Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Haward CA 94544 followed by Antim Ardas at 12:00 p.m. at Gurudwara Sahib, 300 Gurudwara Road, Fremont, CA.
