Minda Patajo Totanes' Obituary
Minda Patajo Totanes passed away peacefully in San Leandro, California on February 13, 2017 at the age of 64. Born on August 22, 1952 in Davao City, Philippines to Jose and Rizalina Patajo, she spent the first ten years of her life in Davao City. In 1962, her family moved back to Bauang, La Union, where she continued her studies.She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Christ the King College, San Fernando, La Union. She went on to a teaching career that spanned nearly 20 years — first teaching at her alma mater, then at St. Louis School, Philex Mines, and later at Marist School and Stella Maris College. In 1991, she immigrated to the United States where she worked at various jobs before finding employment at Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy in Union City, California. She retired from Kaiser in 2014, after 15 years of service.She is survived by her husband, George Totanes, and siblings Harlando, Jose Jr., Cleofe and Dante. She had 14 nephews and nieces on which she constantly doted. She had a positive and quirky personality. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and cracking jokes, oftentimes laughing before she got to the punchline. Minda loved karaoke and selfies. She was a generous soul, happy to help whenever she can.She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed
