Michael Richard Thut's Obituary
Michael (Mike) R. Thut passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022. He was born in Oakland, California on August 8, 1940, to Richard and Eleanor Thut. The family lived first in Oakland and then later moved to Hayward. He graduated from San Lorenzo High school where he played Varsity Football and Baseball.
Mike became a carpenter learning the trade from his father and uncle as they built or remodeled many homes in the Bay Area. He later became a general contractor retiring in 2007.
He married Jodell in 1964 and later moved to Livermore where they raised three daughters. They enjoyed many family camping trips along the coast with the Mendocino area being one of their favorite places. Sadly, after 34 years of marriage, Jodell passed away.
In 1998, Mike married Terri gaining two stepchildren. Mike and Terri loved to travel and always looked forward to spending time at Lake Tahoe, on the coast or on a cruise. They enjoyed many cruises including several to Alaska, his favorite destination.
Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed golf and fishing. He also liked playing cards or Mexican Train Dominoes with family and friends, reading,and movies.
Mike is survived by his wife, Theresa (Terri) Thut, his children, Michelle Mayr (Shawn), Christine Thut, Melanie Thut (Rusty Burnett), Sean Eagan, and Kelly Eagan, his sister Kathleen Murray and grandchildren, Maddie, Liam, Aaron and Eli Mayr, and Jacob, Chloe, Hayden and Sean Eagan. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Jodell Thut, and sister, Patricia Campbell.
