Michael Grant McNulty's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we regretfully announce the passing of Michael Grant McNulty. Mike was born in Santa Rosa, California and passed unexpectedly on November 11, 2021, at home in Newark, California at the age of 80.
Mike graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa and enlisted in the Army shortly afterwards. He was very proud to be a part of the 101st Airborne and loved being a rifleman, machine gunner and infantry paratrooper. It is fitting that he died on Veterans Day. He ended his service honorably in 1963.
Mike worked in many occupations, but his main jobs were as an insurance investigator and safety inspector, real estate sales, group and direct sales, furniture and home improvement sales, gas station and hardware store manager, and finally, 25 years as a self-employed handyman.
Mike was a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous and The Pathfinders, a clean and sober motorcycle club. He formed many of his closest relationships through these organizations and served in leadership positions in each. Mike was a passionate motorcycle racer as a young man and a skilled rider at age 80. He was a role model and mentor to many as he was clean and sober since 9/8/1992.
The memorial service will be held Sunday, 11/21/2021, at 4pm at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral home in Hayward, California. The family requests donations be made to the Newark AA Fellowship in lieu of sending flowers. Checks can be made payable to “Newark Fellowship” with a notation in the memo section “for Mike McNulty” and sent to 7115 Rich Ave, Newark CA 94560. Venmo payments are also accepted using @Newark-fellowship. The code for first time use is 6622.
