Michael Lee's Obituary
Michael “Mike” Lee was born in San Francisco, California on April 25, 1957, to Celestine Kennedy Lee and Dailey Lee, Jr., who preceded him in death. He was the fourth of six children born to this union and was preceded in death by his brothers James and Darryl “Pepper,” and sister Brenda.
Mike attended public school in San Francisco. He enjoyed growing up in Haight-Ashbury and participating in the annual Golden Gate Park summer sports league.
During this time, Mike met and married Patricia. Their union was blessed with a son Michael and daughter Michelle.
Mike earned his living as a crossing guard and day laborer in Hayward.
Mike was living his life in the East Bay when he met, fell in love with and married his wife Pernella Dorsey-Lee, who preceded him in death. She was the love of his life.
With Pernella by his side, Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior and was baptized. He became aware of God, His teachings, and blessings at this later stage of life.
Mike and Pernella became members of Solid Rock C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of Reverend Jerald K. Simpkins.
Mike leaves to cherish the memory of his life; his children Michael and Michelle, six grandchildren, brother Ronald, sister Janell, sisters-in-laws’ Valerie and Michelle, brothers-in-laws’ Charlie and Charles, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and many, many friends.
“God’s garden had need of a little flower, it had grown for a time here below; but in tender love he took it above in a lovelier garden to grow.”
