I remember my first day at a new school in 5th grade, I didn’t know anyone. Mike came up to me and introduced himself. He was such a friendly and kind person and always had a smile when we said hello or even talked to each other. When I first met Mike I asked him why he had his hands in his pockets, we both laughed as he said “because it feels good”. From 5th grade up until we graduated 12th grade Mike still had his hands in his pockets. My sister told me today of his passing, I was deeply saddened. My heart goes out to all his loved ones, I am so very sorry for your loss. Peggy Dalton

I am in shock that my dear, dear friend Mike is gone. We have been friends since Vannoy Elementary. Thru Jr. High and high school. We would loose touch for a while then run into each other periodically through out the years. We were always in touch. …Most Recently hanging out at our class reunion. I cherished our special bond and will miss him so much. He was for real. A true friend and kind spirit. If you were his friend, it was forever.
