MICHAEL GEORGE BRITZ, III's Obituary
Michael George Britz III died at age 70 in the care of VA hospital in Palo Alto from a long battle with multiple illnesses. He was born on January 18, 1946 in Oakland California to George Michael Britz II and Eveleen Cressie Britz. Michael was the oldest of five children and excelled in school throughout childhood, even getting into a little trouble with some of his teachers for correcting them. Soon after high school, Michael joined the Air Force and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Air Force, he studied Engineering at the University of Maryland. During a business trip to Korea he met Yong Sun Yim and they married on July 14, 1980. Soon thereafter, Michael and Yong Sun conceived a son, the first of four children. As a new family, they moved to California and settled down in San Jose where they gave birth to two more boys and a girl. In his free time, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and tinkering with electronics. As a long time season ticket holder of the Oakland Raiders, he attended as many games as he could, bringing along his family and friends. Michael loved animals of all kinds; he helped raise mice, bunnies, snakes, lizards, cats, dogs, and a chicken! The house was a zoo! Michael is survived by his wife Yong Sun, his children: George, John, Sam and Eveleen as well as five grandchildren: Sonya, Nathan, Michael, Darren and Nolan. He is also survived by his brother and sister, Phil and Linsey. Service will be held on Monday the 25th of April, 1 pm, at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
