Best regards, Rommel 510-376-0138 Merquita “Deck” Datu Manalo was born on April 17, 1947 in Pampanga, Philippines. She was the 5th child of Olympia and Aurelio Datu. She has 2 more sisters & 3 brothers who are right now living in the Philippines. She’s called & known by her nickname “Deck” because when she was a kid, her sisters and relatives used to sing “saradeckdeckdeck” and she would laugh whenever. From then on, they called her Deck Deck or Deck for short. The life they had then was hard, although they were able to get by everyday through the hard work of her parents, they didn’t have enough to send them all to school & able to finish college. At a young age, Deck worked as a helper in a canteen just to earn money for the family. Sometimes she helped in the farm too.. One day, she met Rodolfo Manalo also known as Rudy , who is also from the same province. Rudy had really a tough time courting Deck and at that time, Rudy was not the only one who’s trying to win the heart of Deck. She was blessed with beauty and it’s not a surprise why she had many suitors at that time. The parents of Deck were very strict but Rudy was very persistent & endured everything just to win her heart. And after 7 long years, Deck said yes and got married on June 13, 1968. They had a fruitful marriage and was blessed with 6 children, they were able to send them all to school and all 6 graduated from college.. Deck played a dutiful housewife to Rudy and a great mother to her children. She took care of Rudy and the kids and made sure their needs were all taken care of. Deck had lived her life in the most positive way, she had so much love to give to her family & relatives.. she was also known for her kindness & generosity to everyone who needs help that’s why she was loved by many.. Deck’s hobbies are cooking for the family, cleaning the house, and sewing her kids’ clothes..she loved shopping for shoes and bags too. Deck is survived by her husband Rudy, her 6 children & their spouses, 5 siblings & their families, brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews & 12 ( going on 13 next month) grandchildren..
