Melvin Robert Rogers' Obituary
Melvin Robert Rogers, a long-time resident of San Leandro, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2015 in Hayward with his family by his side. Melvin was born on July 24, 1928 in Oakland to Kenneth Hugh Rogers and Ruth Ethel Ross.Melvin married Patty Jean Rather in April 1948 and they made their home in Hayward where they raised their two sons Robert and William. A sheetmetal foreman by trade, he worked in the industry for over 40 years.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.He is survived by his sister Marilyn Harvey; sons Robert and William; grandchildren Michael (wife Heather), Yvonne, Rebecca, Brandon, and Jennifer (husband Scott); great-grandchildren Jessenia, Meghan, Madeline, Logan, Ashley, and Emma.Melvin is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Patty and his older brother Kenneth.
