Melvin Gomes' Obituary
Aug. 29, 1926 – Aug. 7, 2008 Resident of Hayward, CA Melvin Gomes, born, raised and long time resident of Hayward, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the age of 81. Melvin was predeceased by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart Adele in 1996. They had celebrated almost 50 years of marriage. He is survived by his children: Nancy Baldwin, Bruce Gomes, David Gomes and Janet Clifford. He is also survived by his many loving grand children and great-grandchildren. Melvin was proud of his many years of service to the City of Hayward Water Department. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and beating his sons-in-law at cribbage. Melvin had a talent for playing any instrument by ear. Please join the family in honoring Melvin’s life at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 11, 2008 from 4:30-8:30 P.M. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. with entombment to follow.
