MELAKU SAHLE's Obituary
Mr. Melaku Sahle was born in 1934 in Yergalem, Ethiopia to his late father, Negadras Sahle Woldesemayat and his late mother, w/o Haregweyne Teklemariam.After completing elementary school in Addis Ababa, he was sent to Belgium at the age of 13 to attend a secondary school and pursue a college education. He received a bachelor’s degree from the College Saint Louis Waremme, outside of Brussels.Upon graduating from college, Mr. Sahle returned to his home country of Ethiopia and began his career. Mr. Sahle worked in the private sector for many years where he held various positions including: Assistant Manager at St. George Brewery; the first General Manager at Meta Abo Brewery when it was first established; and General Manager at Konenalpi Cherallia Food Corporation. Mr. Melaku Sahle later established his own dairy farm and became an entrepreneur until he moved to the United States in 2003.Mr. Melaku Sahle was married to his wife Mulumebet Anteneh for 56 years and together they had one daughter and three sons. They were blessed with six beautiful grandchildren.After a long illness, Mr. Melaku Sahle passed away on June 16, 2016.Mr. Melaku Sahle was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will forever be missed.
