Maxine M. Whitehead's Obituary
Maxine Whitehead June 7, 1918 – August 22, 2009 Resident of Castro Valley Maxine passed away in her sleep after a bout with cancer. She was 91 years old. She was such a strong willed person and so energetic all her life. She fought to the end. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her nephew James Martinez and his wife Linda; Niece Patsy Pope; Niece Revelyn LaVern and her children Sophie and Adam and their three children. Great Aunt to Danny Martinez, his wife Kim and their children Matt and Vince as well as Great Aunt to James Martinez Jr. and Tom Grasso. She was very active in the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and recently received her 50 year pin. She was very proud of that accomplishment. The Lodge was her life. She loved every moment of it. She had so many good friends through the years. She was past Matron, San Lorenzo Chapter 577. Please join the family for services honoring Maxines life at Chapel of the Chimes 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. 94544. A Visitation will be held on Thursday 8/27/2009 from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. A funeral will take place on Friday 8/28/2009 at 10:00 a.m. Private interment to follow in San Bruno next to her late husband Harry Whitehead. The ceremony at Chapel of the Chimes will be provided by Lodge members with a special thanks to Wanona and Stephine. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in Maxine’s name.
