Maurice N. Stuart a San Leandro resident entered into rest Monday, August 27, 2001 in Castro Valley. Born in Oakland on February 8, 1929, he was 72 years of age. Maurice joined the Merchant Marines in 1945; enlisted with the Marine Corps in June 1950 and given an honorable discharge on June 27, 1954. He was an avid sports fan and gardener. He was a member of the American Legion and the San Leandro/Hayward Elks Club.Dearly beloved husband of Rita C. Stuart. Loving father of Maureen King of Enumclaw, WA., Shelly Chappell of Livermore, CA., Rita Jarvi of American Canyon, CA., Harry Clyde of San Leandro, CA., James Stuart of San Lorenzo, CA., Donald L. Blair, Jr. of Goodyear, AZ., Charles Blair of Phoenix, AZ., and Curtis Blair of San Leandro, CA. Dear brother of Stanley Stuart of San Lorenzo. Devoted grandfather of fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
