Mary Seaton's Obituary
First of all I want to say this: That love is all that matters. Mary loved her garden. But with the help of Ron (and Charles), she had it designed to her liking. The pathways were set with paver stones. The decorative pots had beautiful lush succulents. Roses were planted, trimmed at winter, and bloom through the spring and summer. The side fence lined with fanciful colored decorative pots. A cafe table, chair and an outdoor fire pit too. A feast for the eyes to see, a tapestry of love to rest in. She was very much excited and loving of her garden. She also had another garden, and that is her children, Kelly, Craig and Charles. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and a giving grandmother. And with Ron at her side, together they tended to the garden of a family. After all, Ron was her one true love. A partner to raise children. A partner who would be with her in health and through sickness, for richer and for poorer. Mary and Ron had the joy of knitting together a family of three children. And these Children are beautiful people inside and outside. They are loving and giving, and beautiful like the flowers in Mary’s garden.A garden doesn’t grow among rocks. The roots of the plants need fertile soil and water and sun. Mary’s Mother and Father and you, her siblings and friends are the fertile soil from which she grew and watered her garden. And the sun is all the happy moments she had with all of you, her family and friends. She loved Country music, line dancing, and bowling too. Baking cookies at Christmas with Craig and Johnny too as helpers. She loved long conversations through the night, cats surrounded her throughout her life. One of the first few things I did when I arrived was to torment one with scotch tape on its paws and watch it high step down the hall. When she turned 50 there was sock hop party for her that all enjoyed. The Cheeto habit she shared with grandkids. Careers: She attended beauty school. She was a Professional waitress and learned Kitchen Spanish she would say. She relished the outdoor holiday decorations her boys would fasten to the front yard and roof. She loved how the neighbors would ask for more. Knitting/Crochet was a hobby of hers, afghan, shawls and wraps. Best food she made was everything, but beef stew and lasagna stood out the most. She would Travel one state or city to another as Ron would run the marathons. San Francisco, Hawaii, Chicago, Colorado. Family trips included camping at Blue Lakes and Disneyland too. Homes she enjoyed were in San Francisco, Union City and San Diego too.I also want to acknowledge her Grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends that are here. You surely were touched by the warmth and care of her heart and hands that gave so generously of the person she was.So today, we lay her to rest, but the seeds of her garden continue to grow and multiply. A blessing to all of us. And the sun that shines on us and warms us in the years to come will be her spirit telling us all is well with her as she now tends to God’s garden in heaven. Probably telling him were to plant the roses and lay the paver stones.Thank God for the gift of Mary Seaton and all the love she had for each and every one of us.
