Mary was my Godmother and what a blessing she was in my life. She was always kind and loving to me, made it a point to be a part of my life, and was always there for me 100% of the time. I shall miss her smile, her laugh, and sparkling eyes. She had a great sense of humor and always fun to be around. I loved her positive attitude and the way she looked at life. My Aunt Mary was beloved by all who knew her. She had a sunny disposition; she was always cheerful, optimistic, and encouraging. Among her many accomplishments, Mary Russell was a past president of Daughters of the Golden West. On her father's side, Jose Dias was 13 years old when he arrived in California in 1868. On her mother's side, her great great grandfather Noyes came to the US in 1858 and served with the Union Army during the Civil War. Auntie Mary was a wonderful storyteller and passed down the family history through her enchanting tales.
