Mary Rose SlaterMay 4, 1925 – December 4, 2016Mary peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Maglia. She was in the company of her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Rich, whom she lived with and were her caretakers during her final years.Mary was born on May 4, 1925 in Berkeley, CA. She was born and raised and resided in the Bay Area until the last few years when she moved up north. On January 28, 1945 she married Jay Slater and they had 2 children; Nancy and Mike. She had traveled abroad from long journeys to simple camping trips. She loved shopping especially for jewelry and had a big sweet tooth. She had a good sense of humor and flirtatious disposition especially with the males J. In her golden years she was a candy striper at St. Rose Hospital and looked forward to going to help out wherever she could.She lived a long journey and was loved by her family! She is survived by her daughter Nancy; granddaughters Cindy and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Alexandria, Nicole, Dustin and Brandon. Preceded in death by son Mike and husband Jay.Viewing will be held on Tuesday 12/13 at 11am followed at 1:30pm with blessing and prayers at her final resting place with her husband Jay.
