Mary Ornelas was born on April 1, 1936 in Phoenix, AZ. and passed away after a long hard battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert S. Ornelas and is survived by her 5 children, Son-Robert E. Ornelas, Daughter and Spouse – Sylvia and Mark Blakely, Son and Spouse-Mike and Nancy Ornelas, Son and Spouse-Carlos and Penny Ornelas, and Son-Ruben Ornelas, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 13th at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 5:00pm to 8:30 pm.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 14th at St. Edward’s Church, 5788 Thornton Ave. Newark, CA. Mass will begin at 10:30am followed by burial at Chapel of the Chimes at 12:00pm. A reception will follow at the Hall at St. Edward’s Church.In lieu of flowers, our family requests that donations be made in her name to our Mother’s favorite charities, the John Wayne Cancer foundation or St. Jude’s Cancer Research Hospital.
