Mary Harold's Obituary
Mary Harold was born in Leland, Mississippi to Malcom and Mamie Reed. She always had a smile and wisdom to share. She attended Breisch High School from which she graduated. She accepted Christ at the age of 13 and united with the St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Leland Mississippi. Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Harold Jr. April 5, 1947 in Leland Mississippi. She and her husband moved to Richmond, California in 1947 where she united with the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. In 1954 she and her husband moved to Oakland, California where she united with the Cosmopolitan Missionary Baptist Church. There she taught church school until her husband was called to Pastor Parchester First Baptist Church in Richmond, California where she was active. Her activities at Parchester have included teaching Sunday school, singing in the adult choir, and participating in the Mission. She was First Lady at Parchester First Baptist Church for 35 years and First Lady Emeritus until her death. In addition, she proudly worked as a waitress at the Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, CA from which she retired. She passed away peacefully at Driftwood Healthcare Center in Hayward on Friday, May 21, 2021.
