Mary A. Gonzalez's Obituary
Mary Ann Gonzalez born May 20th 1950 to Rebecca and Rosario Obregon in Phoenix AZ The youngest of six children she attended Oakland schools until she reached high school where she attended Lydia Patterson institute in El Paso Texas. She obtained her cosmetology license in Oakland where she began her career and passion in hair care. She then had her first child Rosario Manzanares Having a son she needed more stability that’s when she began working for AC Transit as a bus driver in 1977 worked into dispatching and supervision eventually ending her career as office manager. In that time she had her second child Raquel Gonzalez She was very active in her union both ATU and AFSME holding office at both local and international levels. Mary Ann had a way of getting people together for a common cause she was good at it and loved every minute of it! She is survived by her daughter 2 grandchildren brother Samuel Obregon Sister Rebecca Mullen brother Benjamin Obregon Many nieces and nephews among great and great-great nieces and nephews uncles and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Rebecca and Rosario Obregon Sister Rachel Obregon Sister Ester Reyes
