Martha Elaine Kamiyama - Diaz's Obituary
Martha Elaine Kamiyama was born on April 27,1952 in San Francisco, California to parents Juanita Brown and Tiburcio Genita Diaz. She is survived by her 7 siblings: Garvis, Bursh, Pina, Hellen, Linda, Orbie, and Simon. Marty’s faith in God started at a young age and grew into a very active member of the church FAFB. In 1975, she met and fell in love with Russell Kamiyama and soon married. He brought into the relationship a loving son Paul Kamiyama whom Marty loved as her own. Soon after they had 2 children of their own Troy and Aisha. Marty flourished in her early career as an underwriter at Gateway Bank in San Francisco. She later took on the role as the world’s best grandmother to 7 beautiful grandchildren. Marty gave every ounce of love she had and formed an amazing bond with each of them. She switched careers and came to YMCA where she formed lifelong friendships. Marty was an Administrative Assistant for both Presidio and Point Bonita branches for 20 years. Marty was an incredible, unforgettable, selfless human being who loved everyone unconditionally. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and definitely left an imprint on all of our lives. Marty was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma 1 year ago and moved in with her daughter, Aisha and son-in-law Jake, as they gracefully cared for her. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Marty is survived by her son, Troy Kamiyama; granddaughters, Kalani and Leilana Kamiyama; her daughter, Aisha Kamiyama; Son-in-law Jake Chhut; grandchildren, Jade Handa, Romeo, Juliannah, Jazminah and Jaxon Chhut. Taken too soon her memory will eternally live on.
